On 24 February 2007

| The meeting got
underway shortly after 9:00 with the Pledge of Allegiance and everyone present identifying
themselves. the State Director gave a detailed Power Point presentation on the installation of
Airmail 3.3. There was a short break around 10:30 for refills of coffee and doughnuts furnished
by Jim - AAM6ATX. Dave fielded questions about the Airmail system through-out the presentation.
Dennis ordered Pizza earlier and they and soft drinks were delivered a around twelve, so we
took a fast thirty minute break for lunch. The State Director completed his presentation about
a quarter after 1:00 and turned the floor over to Steve - AAR6AM/T. Steve - also AAB6TX, the provider of the local Winlink 2000 PMBO, gave a very interesting talk and Power Point presentation, on the technical workings of how the Winlink 2000 System operates from a member's input and message accountablity procedures to the ultimate delivery of the traffic to the client. Steve gave some examples of how the system helped him to provide on the scene emergency communications during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. There was a lively discussion on the pros and cons of the many sound card modes of communication methods and general questions about the MARS program by the two new members. Everyone agreed that it was a very informative and altogether interesting meeting. The meeting ended about 2:30 and everyone went outside to find a dust storm in progress with winds gusts up to 40MPH. In review, myself, Andy - AAM6ATX took some pictures with a new camera, which left much to be desired with the pictures of the State Director and the Training Officer. Also, I somehow missed getting a picture of Carl Mack - AAR6KB, Deputy Zone 4 Coordinator. I don't know how I missed Bill, AAR6CE, Zone 2 Deputy Coordinator either. Sorry guys. I'm just a cub reporter. Well I spoke too soon. Jim, AAM6TTX sent the last two pictures that he took. Thanks for the photos Jim! Still missed Carl Mack.
